Mom's Pharmacy Across Velez, Celebrates 4th Anniversary

Mom's Best Value Pharmacy right across Velez College has dominated the Pharmacy industry in the Ramos area (with the exception of the Hospital pharmacy) and now is in its fourth year of doing so. They couldn't have done it without the support of the Velezian community.

Mom's Pharmacy started about four years ago and is still doing well especially with the very strategic location. Students know this pharmacy as the place where they can usually buy their laboratory apparatus quite conveniently instead of going to the extremely far Berovan, or Far Eastern Drug (literally far). The Velezians also buy their other materials which are needed in cases of emergency instead of going to the not-so-far-but-still-quite-far National Bookstore, be it a cartolina for reporting in Philospohy, or an Index card for P.E..

So how is Mom's Pharmacy surviving?
After further inquiring in the Velezian Community, here are the top reasons why they are still going on and getting better.:

1.Hospitality-Mom's boast the best hospitality in all pharmacies. I was able to visit Rose Pharmacy and the cashier there seem irritated when I asked about a certain apparatus, while in Mercury Drug, they didn't seem irritated at me... cuz they didn't even try to entertain me! In Mom's you are assured that you won't be forgotten. Far Eastern Drug is the only pharmacy I know that equals Mom's in terms of service quality.

2.Price-aside from just student consumers, Mom's also happens to have a lot of consumers who are patients not just from Velez Hospital, but also from Chong Hua, VCMC and many more. Why? Because Mom's does not hesitate to suggest alternative generics which are affordable yet still effective.

3.Location=Convenience-you are down to your last vial /test tube and you need them now cuz your Chem Lab is about to start in 10 minutes. Where else can you buy apparatus like that? Nowhere else except your favorite place to be. Mom's...

4.Customer Satisfaction-whether you buy a lot of stuff or just a single tablet, they don't look at the clothes you wear or the wallet you carry. They all serve you with equal quality. They treat everyone with the same quality service for a guaranteed customer satisfaction. One time, I saw a poor girl in ragged clothes trying to buy something from the store. Instead of treating her as a beggar, the pharmacist entertained her, and even offered a more affordable alternative to the medicine she was tasked to purchase. This is all because the staff in the pharmacy have values which are Christian Centered.

5.Airconditioning-one cannot deny, in the fiery pits of hel.. I mean Ramos, one wants to cool down a bit, and what better way than to go in to Mom's Pharmacy to purchase something and face directly at the Airconditioner. No wonder the place is crowded in those blazing afternoons!

So thats all for Mom's pharmacy. I heard they are still giving freebies for a certain amount of purchase. Check it out Velezians!

Velez College V.S. USJ-R in Fight for Third, Volleyball Men

In the heat of CESAFI, Velez College Volleyball Men Team, was able to reach the point of fighting for third place or making it to the championship round. The game was a tight
competition.

It started with USJ-R leading, and then at the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th set, the heat began to grow.
Adrenalin rushing, VC gave its all yet still lost by 7 points in the final set.

SET I - USJ-R 25 -VC 12
SET II- USJ-R 26 -VC 24
SET III- USJ-R 22 -VC 25
SET IV- USJ-R 22 -VC 25
Last SET USJ-R15 -VC 8

I was also able to have the opportunity to talk to our beloved Dean Emmanuel Pardinian, who was a strong supporter of our Volleyball Team Men.
Dean Pardinian: "Our team man gud needs more exposure, more experience, more tournaments."
Me: What do you think is the advantage of this year's team?
DP: Height, our players have very good heights. And also skill. You know, most of our players are not really Volleyball players. They're just fill-ins. Only Locson, Aaron, Chatto, and Dale are Volleyball players.
Me: So what are the weaknesses you see in this team?
DP: No self-confidence. They really need polishing. But they are actually the best team so far, in my experience of previous teams in Volleyball. Jeff for instance, is the most improved player here. Compared to last year, his performance has greatly improved.
Me: Which player would you think is the best?
DP:I would have to say Locson. He truly is an all around player.
Me: One last thing sir, what can you say about today's game?
DP:It was a hard fought five sets. Although they made a lot of mistakes, they give it their best shot.

And there you have it folks. That was the interview with Dean Pardinian.

Here is a short clip on the very tight competition...
